ARTHROSCOPIC SURGERY
Performing arthroscopic joint surgery means that only a small stab incision is made for a small scope and camera and a second small incision for specialized instruments rather than a large surgical incision in the joint capsule and skin. This means less pain and a faster recovery. The other advantage is that the scope magnifies the joint surface giving the surgeon a better view of the area. There is a strong trend in human medicine to perform surgery through minimally invasive techniques and Arthroscopic Surgery is one of thesse. Shoulder and elbow surgeries for OCD and Fragmented Coronid Process are performed for the most part this way at NYVSC.
